Creation of
RD Boot Camp

When you were a preschooler, were you able to repeat back nursery rhymes or sing short refrains from children’s songs? Kari Sharp, founder of RD Boot Camp, had difficulty doing both. It wasn’t until she was tested, did her family realize she had an auditory memory problem. She had excellent concentration power, but only when she was interested in what she was learning.

Flash-forward through two bachelor’s degrees and a master’s degree to the time she had to study for the Registered Dietitian Exam. The only review course she could find online consisted of lectures and lists of facts. BORING! Being a creative person, she conceived and developed a new concept in review courses and named it RD Boot Camp. Just like a gym’s fitness class, she included various methods to tone up your skills. And, she incorporated interesting, real-life situational videos to keep you engaged and to make those necessary-to-learn facts more memorable.

Kari Sharp

Kari Sharp, MS, RD
FOUNDER

Kari Sharp, MS, RD started RD Boot Camp with one mission: to help you pass the RD exam on the first try. She has a thriving private practice in Hermosa Beach, CA, aimed at helping children, families, and adults change their nutritional path. She is also a consultant for two national companies, Cognitive Leap Solutions and Snack Attics Organic Dehydrated Fruits; and a preceptor for dietetic interns. She began her private practice in 2018 and is now widely recognized as a leading expert on nutrition for children who are neurodivergent. This sparked the invention of RD Boot Camp as a company that incorporated multidimensional, interactive learning materials, teaching, and tutoring to help students who learn in unique ways pass the national Registered Dietitian exam. As a consultant for Cognitive Leap Solutions, Kari developed the evidence-based nutrition therapy section of a Prescription Digital Therapeutics app designed to improve the well-being of children with ADHD. In this role, Kari invented “The Green Plate Method” as a creative strategy for nutritional dietary changes. In addition, she conducted seminars on medical nutrition therapy for children with ADHD and created several educational nutrition videos on the topic. As a consultant for Snack Attics, Kari is currently developing evidence-based interactive nutrition content designed to educate and engage children in healthy snacking.

With a college degree in graphic design, Kari pairs her nutritional knowledge with her design background to create an exciting new way for you to learn!
